Operable Walls are floor to ceiling walls that can be opened or closed to provide larger or smaller areas.
They are often used to open up a number of small rooms into one large area for conference facilities. Unlike the folding or concertina type of walls, these are built to have all the acoustic properties equal to or better than a permanent plaster board wall.
They are quite expensive compared to a standard wall, requiring a lot of ceiling modifications for the tracks and extensive works at the end of the lease to reinstate the ceiling.
